Meta Tag Generator

Generate full SEO meta tags, title, description, robots, canonical, Open Graph, Twitter Card, hreflang, in one go. With character-count guard rails baked in.

Meta Tag Generator
Generate every meta tag your page needs, title (with pixel-width counter), description, robots, canonical, Open Graph, Twitter Card, hreflang. Live preview as you type.
Google truncates around 580 pixels, counter accounts for letter widths.
What it does

Generate every meta tag your page needs, with the rules baked in

Title tags get truncated at 60 characters. Meta descriptions at 160. Open Graph images need to be exactly 1200×630. Twitter Cards have their own rules. Most generators ignore all of this and let you paste anything, then you find out 3 weeks later in Search Console that Google is cutting your title at the worst possible word.

This generator enforces every rule as you type. Pixel-width counter for titles (because Google measures pixels, not characters). Character counters for descriptions. Image dimension validation. Required-field warnings.

Title tag formula

The title tag formula that converts

After auditing 30,000+ title tags, this is the formula that consistently wins:

Primary Keyword [Modifier] | Brand Name

Primary keyword goes first

Google weighs the first 30 characters most heavily for relevance. Your most-important keyword belongs at the start.

Add a modifier that signals value or specificity

Examples: "Free", "2025", "Step-by-step", "for Beginners", "Complete Guide", "in Under 5 Minutes". Modifiers raise CTR by 8–14% on average.

End with brand for recognition

Brand at the end means people who already know you (returning visitors, brand searchers) see it without it eating prime real estate. New visitors get the keyword first, what they care about.

Stay under 580 pixels

Google truncates at 580 pixels (not 60 characters, characters vary in width). The generator measures pixel-width as you type.

Frequently asked

FAQs about the Meta Tag Generator

Under 580 pixels (roughly 50–60 characters depending on letter shapes). Wide letters like W and M take more pixels than i and l. The generator measures pixels, not characters, for accurate truncation prevention.
Aim for 140–160 characters. Google truncates around 158 characters on desktop and ~120 on mobile. Front-load the most compelling sentence.
No, meta descriptions are not a ranking signal. They're a CTR signal. Google may rewrite your description if it doesn't match the query, happens about 70% of the time. Write descriptions that maximise click-through, not keyword density.
Open Graph (og:image) is used by Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Slack, and most chat apps. Twitter prefers twitter:image but falls back to og:image if missing. Best practice: set both to the same 1200×630 image.
Yes, every indexable page. Duplicate titles and descriptions tell Google your pages are interchangeable, bad for ranking. The Website SEO Checker can scan your site for duplicates.
"summary_large_image", gives you the big card with a 1200×630 image. The smaller "summary" card has gone out of style for content sites.
One <link rel="alternate" hreflang="xx" href="…"> tag per language version, plus one with hreflang="x-default" for the default. The generator outputs all of them with the right syntax.
