AI search is not SEO with a new label. It is a different layer of optimisation, and very few consultants have real, hands-on insight into how it actually works.

Traditional SEO assumed a straight line: one query, one ranking page, one click. AI engines do not work like that. A single question gets fanned out into dozens of sub-queries, each one hitting a different retrieval pipeline, and the model merges what comes back into one answer. If your content is not structured to survive that journey, you simply do not appear, no matter how well you rank on Google.

LLMs also do not read your page as words on a screen. They read it as embeddings, retrieved in chunks.
